Events / Activities
MGA is committed to organize events/ activities for members to achieve the following objectives :-
- To provide forum for members to discuss matters relating to development of gas business which covers the entire gas value chain
- To advance knowledge and learning of gas technology
- To promote friendship and cooperation amongst organizations and professionals involved in gas related activities so as to intensify the development of gas industry in Malaysia
This involves sports & social events i.e. annual golf tournament, annual dinner, tea talks, technical tours as well as corporate events that focus patronage on gas knowledge, research, standards, gas value chain and public interests.

Technical Visit to Gas Plants & Facilities in Bintulu & the Bakun Hydro Dam Project Site, 15-16 December 2009

Industry Dinner 2009 is indeed a very special and laudable occasion which saw the coming together of the 5 esteemed associations to join hands in organizing this auspicious event. MGA PRESTIGE 2009, Hydro Majestic Hotel, Penang, 28-29 March 2009
MGA, in collaboration with several public local universities, organized PRESTIGE 2009 workshop from March 28 to 29 at Hydro Majestic Hotel, Penang. ‘PRESTIGE’ or ‘Practical, Environmental, Safety and Industrial Guidance for Student Engineers’ is a two-day workshop which is adapted from a similar programme run by Shell Malaysia Gas and Power in East Malaysia. This is the second programme organized by MGA following the successful launching of PRESTIGE 2008 in the Klang valley with the participation of 75 engineering students on 23-24 February 2008. The comprehensive Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) workshop covers practical information and tools to enhance awareness on the gas industry as well as the student’s HSE awareness.

MGA Hari Raya 2008 Open House, 17 Oct, Hotel Impiana KLCC Resort & Spa, KL
MGA held the Hari Raya Open house on 17 October 2008 at Hotel Impiana KLCC Resort & Spa, Kuala Lumpur. The evening function was attended by more than 150 MGA members and invited guests. It was a great time of networking with our members and guests mingling informally over a delicious spread of hari raya dishes and local favorites. However the rather heavy rain prevented some of our members from joining us.

The 15th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) held in Barcelona, Spain from 24 to 27 April 2007 reinforced the growing importance of LNG in the global energy sector with LNG demand expected to grow at 9% per annum to reach 375 million metric tones (518 bcm) by 2015 from 160 million metric tones (221 bcm) in 2006.

A round of applause for the organizer and committee members who have rallied to hold this exciting and much eagerly awaited event to promote social and business networking and affiliation amongst MGA members and associates.
