MGA | Malaysian Gas Association

Prior to the commencement of the AGM, the Association organized an inaugural Forum on the topic ‘Malaysian Natural Gas Industry Outlook – Opportunities & Challenges’ for more than 160 participants from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. This Forum is part of the concurrent focus of the Association in its efforts to initiate the evolvement of a beneficial platform for gas and energy-related parties and stakeholders to come together to share views and propositions to address contemporary issues of the gas industry.

MGA Council President Datuk (Dr) A Rahim Hj Hashim presided over the session together with 8 Council Members and their representatives.

The Agenda of the AGM were as follows :-

1. Confirmation of Minutes of the 22nd Annual General Meeting held on 18th April 2008
2. Adoption of the Annual Report and Audited Statement of Accounts for the year ending 31 December 2008
3. Election of Council Members in accordance with Rule 6.7 of the Association
4. Appointment of Auditors
5. To consider any resolution for which due notice has been given
6. Any other matter

The AGM was successfully conducted with deliberation of all items on the Agenda and the respective resolutions raised were duly passed. The President reported on the overall activities and events which have been organized by MGA with the support of members in 2008 and gave a preview of upcoming events in 2009.

The Annual Report and Audited Statement of Accounts were deliberated at length and approved by the Council.

Encik Samsudin Miskon (PETRONAS Gas), Encik Muhamad Noor Hamid (Gas Malaysia), Encik Ahmad Jauhari Yahya (Segari Energy Ventures) and Mr Ngau Boon Keat (DialogAsia) were re-elected as Council Members.
The AGM adjourned at 5:00 pm and was followed by a Special Council Meeting which was convened to elect office-bearers.
